Read the history of the thread, and if there’s no history ask questions in the meta channel. If someone has already engaged with the helpee and you have an idea, consider suggesting it in #tripsit.meta and allowing the person currently engaged with the helpee to pass the information along. Also be mindful that sending large blocks of text or several messages in rapid succession to someone who is on drugs and having a tough time can be overwhelming.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in helping a person, you are not obligated to respond. Allow someone else with that knowledge/experience to take the lead. Consider observing some help sessions before taking them on yourself. There are a lot of very experienced people on TripSit, and watching them work can be a great educational moment.

Occasionally, people will take advantage of our kindness and troll our service by making outlandish claims or attacking us because they disagree with the work we do. If this happens, please ping a @Moderator and do not engage further with that person.
